SEBUAH ANALISIS TEOLOGI YESUS SEBAGAI MESIAS DALAM YOHANES 4:25-26

Abstract

This article discusses whether Jesus as the Messiah means an anointed person; in the view of the Samaritans as well as the Jews it is the same or not. As well as providing an answer to the Jesuit group about the question of where Jesus said He was the Messiah, or why Jesus didn't say the truth 
about who He really was. This study uses a qualitative approach, and traces the history of the use of the word Messiah, the Jewish understanding of the Messiah, and the Samaritans about Teheb, and ultimately provides an answer from a Christian perspective about why Jesus did not say frankly that He was the Messiah or God incarnate. In the end, I conclude that Jesus was the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament and that the understanding between Jews and Samaritans about Taheb and also the 
Messiah was fulfilled in Jesus Christ, and that He was far beyond the understanding of Jews and Samaritans. The reason why Jesus did not tell the crowd frankly about who He really was because the context of life at the time did not allow Jesus to say that. If Jesus said that He was God or He 
was the Messiah, it would make the Jews refuse to listen to Him and would consider it blasphemous and would result in rejection.
